Corden Holdings Ltd. has an opening for a Building Maintenance Worker
The Building Maintenance Worker is responsible for keeping our buildings and housing units functional and livable
Specific duties:
- Perform daily inspection on building and housing grounds and perform routine maintenance jobs and minor repairs such as painting, caulking, HVAC repairs, drywall repairs, lock repairs, window/door repairs, electrical system repairs and make notations of the overall physical condition of every property and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of property including removal of garbage and administering garbage enclosures, dumpsters and/or garage compactor rooms, including deodorizing and power washing of garbage area.
- Notify tenants promptly for all job maintenance, for example, if the yard needs to be mowed or weeds appear to be an issue. Respective tenants must have sufficient time to remedy any issues or be fined accordingly on a daily basis until the issue has been resolved.
- Implement service requests from tenants and residents within a 24-hour period.
- Respond to emergencies arising outside of normal business hours in like cases such as fire, flood, power loss, etc.
- Timely snow removal to ensure grounds safety and accessibility to building and housing unit premises.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment and make minor purchases as required.
- Coordinate the preparation of housing units prior to arrival of new residents.
- Ensure that security and safety measures are in place in all building and housing premises.
- Supervise other workers in the Building Maintenance Department and train new workers.
- May advertise vacancies, show commercial and housing spaces to prospective tenants and collect rent.
- Implement Management’s plans and policies to ensure the life and functioning of our buildings and equipment to tenants’ satisfaction.
- Communicate and liaise with tradespeople as required.
Employment Requirements:
- Completion of secondary school is required.
- 6 months + previous experience in building maintenance.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Fire safety and health safety program training certificate, an asset.
- Emergency and evacuation training certificate, an asset.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
Language: English
Compensation: Corden Holdings Ltd. offers an hourly rate of $29.00 with an overtime rate of $43.50 for hours worked beyond 40 per week.
Benefits: Medical and dental benefits after 6 months of employment with 3 weeksvacation after one year.
Location: Worker will inspect all buildings and rental property units located in Lower Mainland.
